The Commercial Appeal posted the story “Small business: Midtown Motor Werks serves Mercedes, BMW, Porsche, Range Rover” featuring Midtown Autowerks.

Shane Herbers used to mow lawns in Cooper-Young as a kid, but these days he’s working with a little more horsepower.

The owner of Midtown Motor Werks, 795 S. Cooper, said that for him, location, location, location was about supporting the neighborhood he loves.

“I grew up here,” said Herbers, 36. “I loved this neighborhood from the start. I ran all these streets as a kid.”

Herbers’ second passion, though, is Mercedes-Benz, and for almost the last 10 years he’s worked as a mechanic for Mercedes-Benz of Memphis and Smith Imports.
